Above the Clouds Box Card

How cute is this card?! I used the new Above the Clouds Bundle to create this super easy, fun card and it folds flat so it still fits in a standard envelope!

The sayings on this card would be perfect for a graduate or someone who has made a career change.

See the instructions below for an easy step-by-step guide on how to make your own Above the Clouds Box Card.

Instructions

Step 1: Cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock so that it measures 3.5" X 11".
Step 2: Score the cardstock on the long side at 1", 4", 6", and 9".
Step 3: Score the cardstock on the short side at 2".
Step 4: Cut along the 1.5" score lines to create your box flaps, and cut and remove the 1" X 1.5" 'flap'.
Step 5: Use your Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners of your box flaps.
Step 6: Cut two pieces of Night of Navy cardstock measuring 4" X 1". Score these pieces at 0.5" and 3.5". This creates your two horizontal pieces for the inside of the box to stick your hot air balloons to.

Step 7: Cut the following pieces from your Balmy Blue cardstock - One piece measuring 2.75" X 1.25", two pieces measuring 1.75" X 1.25", and one piece measuring 3.25" X 2.75". Round the corners that will coincide with your box flaps.
Step 8: Use the birds from the Above the Clouds stamp set to stamp Night of Navy birds onto your three smaller pieces of Balmy Blue cardstock.
Step 9: Stamp your clouds towards the top of your larger piece of Balmy Blue
cardstock. Add your hot air balloons with Night of Navy, and Balmy Blue.

Step 10: Cut the following pieces from your Whisper White cardstock - One piece measuring 2.75" X 1.75", two pieces measuring 1.75" X 1.75", and one piece measuring 2.75" X 3.25".
Step 11: Using your Balmy Blue ink pad, stamp your flags onto the smaller pieces  of Whisper White cardstock and stamp your mini hot air balloons onto the medium sized Whisper White cardstock.
Step 12: One your largest piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp your clouds using Balmy Blue ink and your mini hot air balloons and saying with Night of Navy Ink.

Step 13: On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp your saying and hot air balloons/baskets using Night of Navy ink.
Step 14: Using your Stitched Shapes Framelits, cut out your saying. Use your balloon punch from your bundle to punch out your hot air balloons and baskets. Use the same punch to cut out flags from a piece of scrap Night of Navy cardstock.

Finally! Time to assemble!

Step 15: Create your box using your bone folder to create your creases and adhere the 1" flap using Tear & Tape Adhesive. Fold your box flaps outward, leaving on the large flaps upright (no need to crease this flap with your bone folder).
Step 16: Adhere your Balmy Blue cardstock pieces to your flaps using Snail Adhesive.
Step 17: Adhere your Whisper White cardstock pieces to your box using Snail Adhesive.
Step 18: Attach your two horizontal pieces of cardstock to the inside of your box, folding them in a Z-Shape and using Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere them towards the top of the inside box.
Step 19: Using mini-dimensionals, attach your flags to one of your hot air balloons.
Step 20: Using Glue Dots, attach your baskets to your hot air balloons and then to the inside strips of your box, staggering them as shown in the picture above.
Step 21: Using dimensionals, attach your circular saying to the front flap of your box card.

You're all done! A lot of steps but super easy to create!

Feel free to share your box card creations! I'd love to see them and if you used a different bundle/colors to create yours!

Happy Stamping!!
