What you need:
- your favorite piece of designer series paper (DSP)
- coordinating cardstock
- a paper trimmer and scorer
- a White Stampin' Chalk Marker
- adhesive (Tear & Tape Adhesive works best)
- embellishments of your choice
- bone folder
Step By Step Instructions:
- Cut two pieces of DSP measuring 4" by 8".
- Cut the following from your coordinating cardstock:
- 4 Accent Pieces measuring 3/4" by 8"
- 2 Handles measuring 1" by 11" and scored down the middle lengthwise from the 1" mark to the 10" mark
- 1 box measuring 3" by 6 1/2" and scored on all sides at the 1/2" mark
- Create your box by cutting one score line at each corner then folding up to create the shape of the box. Adhere using tear & tape adhesive for best results.
- Create your purse walls by adhering your accent pieces to your DSP.
- Adhere your purse walls to the box by placing tear & tape adhesive along the inside bottom of the walls. Also place tear and tape adhesive on one (or both) of your purse walls to adhere both sides together.
- Take your White Stampin' Chalk Marker and create stitching along all sides of your handles.
- Fold your handles in half along the scoreline you made earlier from the 1" mark to the 10" mark. Leave each end flat so that you can attach them to your purse. Apply your preferred adhesive to the inside of the handle to keep it permanently folded.
- Use your bone folder to curl your handle and then apply the flat ends to your purse walls.
You're Done!
Optional: Add your favorite embellishments to jazz up your Paper Handbag like I did below using the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp/Die Bundle and the Perennial Essence Floral Centers.
Tip: Use a sponge dauber and Petal Pink ink to color the centers of your petals before adhering them to each other and to the yellow cardstock and floral centers to get the affect seen in the above picture. You can also use your bone folder to curl you petals inward!
The finished product has lots of room for a small gift, chocolates or even a stack of cards (as you can see in the pic below)!
Happy Stamping and please share pics of your Paper Handbag creations to my Facebook page here. I'd love to see them!
