Diagonal Easel Card

On Friday, shortly after noon, I was Live on Facebook to share how to create this fun Diagonal Easel card.

I used the True Love Designer Series Paper and the Perennial Petals Dies in the creation of this card. 

I love using neutral colors like white, grey and black, then throwing in a pop of color. In this case, I threw in a pop of Petal Pink Cardstock. Making a card like this really draws your eye to the color.

I also used our 2" and 1-1/2" Circle Punches so I could showcase as many pieces of the True Love DSP as I could.

Embossed Spring Card

Last Tuesday I went Live on Facebook for Technique Tuesday! This will be my last Tuesday Live for a while as Spring is here and I plan to spend more Tuesday evenings outside! 

Speaking of Spring .... our current season was the inspiration for this card. I used the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, Stitched Shapes Dies, and Small Bloom Punch to create this Easter-like card.

To create the background, I glued two pieces of cardstock together (Basic White and Soft Sea Foam), then ran them through my 3D embossing folder at the same time! I love how soft this card turned out.

Did you know that the Stitched Shapes Dies are on Stampin' Up's Last Chance List!?!? That makes me sooo sad! They're my go-to dies when I'm being crafty!

Special Someone Twist & Pop-Up Card

I've shared this style of fancy-fold card what seems like years ago but I just had to share it again! Especially because my video quality has improved! LOL Last Friday I went Live on Facebook to share how I created this interactive card.

When I decide to make a fancy-fold card like this, I first pick out the stamp set/bundle that I want to use.

Then I find some gorgeous Designer Series Paper that will work with the stamp set/bundle.

Then I pick out 2 to 3 coordinating cardstock colors!

The key with this card to get the Twist & Pop-Up to work smoothly is to open and close it several times. This softens the cardstock a bit so it's not so stiff. I highly recommend doing this before you gift your creation to a loved one!

Measurements:

• Card Base: 4-1/2" x 11"
• score on long side at 5-1/2"
• Twist Mechanism: 8" x 3-1/2"
• Score on short side at 1-3/4"
• Mark both long sides at 2-1/4" and 5-3/4", then score an 'X' between the marks
• Pop-Up Mechanism: 10" x 3-1/2"
• score on long side at 2-1/2", 5", and 7-1/2"
• Decorate with:
• 4 pieces of cardstock measuring 3-1/4" x 2-1/4"
• 4 pieces of DSP or CS measuring 3-1/8" x 2-1/8"
• Card Front:
• Cardstock measuring 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
• DSP measuring 4" x 5-1/4"
• Inside Card:
• Colored Cardstock measuring 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
• Basic White Cardstock measuring 4" x 5-1/4"

Vellum Doilies Masking Technique

I was Live on Facebook Tuesday night with a masking technique using the Vellum Doilies found in the annual catalog.

While holding down the doily in place, I used one of our Blending Brushes to brush the ink over the doily.

When I lifted the doily away, I was left an intricate background!

I paired this technique with the Way To Goat stamp set found in the Annual Catalog. I love how "punny" this set is!

In Bloom Card with Stitched Background

I had some technical difficulties this week with Technique Tuesday and lost my Technique Tuesday Video! BUT I still wanted to share the end results with ya'll!

I created this very Spring-inspired card using the In Bloom Bundle from the current Mini Catalog.

To create the stitched, grey and white background, I glued stripes on 3/4" pieces of cardstock onto a piece of Basic White cardstock. I alternated between Smokey Slate CS strips and Basic White CS Strips.

I then ran this concoction through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the second largest Stitched Rectangular Die. This created the stitched all around the outside as you can see in the above picture.

This technique is super easy and adds the right amount of pizzazz to a card so I'm going to attempt to re-do this technique next Tuesday!

Hey Birthday Chick Bridge Card

On Friday, I went Live on Facebook and shared how to make this adorable Bridge Card using the Hey Birthday Chick Bundle.

I paired this bundle with the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper. This paper is so much fun!

Here's an angled shot so you can see how the bridge card opens. This card is perfect to mail as well because it fold flat and fits in a standard A2 envelope!

Hey Birthday Chick and Tailored Tag Punch Card

I was Live tonight on Facebook with a fun technique using the Tailored Tag Punch.

I punched out several Tailored Tags from the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper and then arranged them on my card front to create my own background!

I then used the Hey Birthday Chick Bundle to finish off the card.

I don't often stamp the insides of my card as I love to handwrite my own messages but I couldn't resist adding this cute little chick to the inside of my card.
